System Functionality

A server side application was developed as a Windows NT service accessing a corporative database based on MS SQL Server 7.0 and providing both legislative and business related rules. The client side SW was designed as a standalone Win32 application and provides users access to the distributed database objects.

The Client-Server system development process involved CORBA technology to reach a data interchange in network environment. And ADO technology is also actively used to access the database objects at the server side.

Custom output reports in the distributed Intranet/Extranet system implemented as an Internet Server Extension DLL automatically generating documents in HTML format and became a 3-d tier component for the corporative database.

Summary

The system aimed to automate pharmaceutical storehouse functionality in the area of logistics in correspondence with local legislation rules. The system architecture provides also database distribution mechanism between the central company office and a number of remote branch offices.
